Lincoln Center broadcast in 2006.
The Light in the Piazza is a romantic musical set in
Florence and Rome in the summer of 1953.
A young American tourist, Clara Johnson, meets and
falls in love with a handsome and sensitive Italian,
Fabrizio Naccaerelli.
When Clara’s mother, Margaret, learns of the romance,
she opposes the affair for reasons that gradually become
apparent to the audience.

acclaimed play ran for 504 performances in 2005
and 2006 on Broadway at New York’s Lincoln
Center and has toured the nation ever since.
